MAGAZINE: Beware of PLUMBERS CRACK

This assignment was fun to step back in time. I had the opportunity to research the year of 1944 and see what happened in Hollywood and to the actors at this time. Here is the catch… I had to make it a modern magazine highlighting that year. This was interesting to say the least. I discovered a lot of great and exciting things happen in this year. But it also helped me to make better sense of things. I am a very visual learner. So reading history books is not my cup of tea. I like to experience the places and step into their shoes to really understand what happened at that period of time. I am strange… I am quite aware of this, but this is who I am. I tell you this, because reading about the year 1944 was a bit of a challenge for me. Especially since I can’t sit through one of the older movies. I slept through White Christmas. Again - I am strange! I do not need to be reminded over and over again.

What helped for me was to read through the California archives and pretend that I am spying on their lives. Almost as bad as listening to the gossip of the olden days. This helped. I was able to find some great things on Clark Gable. I only new him in Gone with the Wind. Now, I admire him a lot for serving in World War II. Then I learned about the Mr. Hawks and looking for the perfect woman. Aside from researching for who to do the magazine on, I needed to do research the type faces, style and color that were used at that time.  With time, a lot has changed and altered. But then I had to research modern day magazines and blend them to make the magazine work well together with the different time era’s.
